A2 Dominion/Beethoven Centre

Since the project has started, CHAS advice service posters have been set up in over 200 locations in
Church Street and over 50 in Queens Park. Soho Housing Association, Notting Hill Housing Trust and
A2 Dominion have published half page adverts in their residents’ magazines detailing the Drop in
service, including the welfare advice service. Wood and Vale newspaper ran a photo story about the
launch of the new CHAS welfare advice service. Paddington People has also run an article about the
Drop in in Queens Park; both Church Street and Queen’s Park editions have advertised the CHAS
advice sessions. Articles advertising the new CHAS service in Queens Park and the new Advice
Drop in service in Church Street are planned for the next edition.
Quotes from users on survey forms include:
‘I’m so happy to come here and thank you so much for your help.’
‘I have found this to be most helpful and useful.’
‘I think this service is a great idea. It helps to know you can receive
help with different issues in one building, also face to face.’
‘All the environment and the atmosphere is so friendly.’
Events that have been set up during this project include:
Carer’s week was the first event to be organised with Carer’s Network Westminster where a
cooking demonstration as well as an information giving service about what is available to carers in
the area. This all preceded the usual Advice Drop in where carers could access direct advice and
assistance with any problems they faced.
The second event was a Ways to Work event, coorganised with City West Homes. It allows
residents to access the advice services as well as a number of employers and job advisors in order
to help get them into work. Over 130 residents attended this event.
